Ina and Claude, a couple of diver-technicians, descend 200 meters underwater to join the crew of a submerged station on a last-chance mission to contain a catastrophic oil spill. While working in isolation, cut off from the world and under extreme conditions, the onboard doctor becomes infected by a parasitic worm\u2014highly contagious\u2014that strips its hosts of all inhibitions, surrendering them to their most extreme urges, while it feeds on their endorphins like an emotional vampire.<\/p>\n First, take the queasy feeling of imagining yourself in the place of one of those ants being eaten alive by a parasitic fungus. The pathogen hijacks your nervous system and turns you into a helpless puppet, willingly running toward suicide. Then add the existential dread of a forty-something who realises he\u2019s done nothing with his life\u2014and will probably do nothing with the rest of it.
